Earth
Element yoga mats by Hugger Mugger
I
came across these yoga mats at the Midwest Yoga Conference last
June (2005), and I was so excited to see another choice for a sustainable
yoga mat. The name "Earth Elements" couldn't be more appropriate,
and the colors are beautiful. Each side is slightly different in
color and texture, and comes in three colors.

I
just had to try it. So when the exhibition hall was quiet, I practiced
a few poses on the mat out on the floor in the Hugger Mugger booth.
I liked the texture, and the traction was good, but to be honest
it felt synthetic. There was no energy or vibration like I get from
the Eco mat. I didn't feel grounded. Don't get me wrong this is
a really nice mat it's just not my preference. However if
you have a latex sensitivity this mat is ideal.
The
Earth Elements Mat is made from a newly developed and patented
TPE (Thermal Plastic Elastomer) foam, this mat
contains no latex, PVC or rubber, and uses no toxic materials in
its production. Its patterned surface provides the same
natural traction as the Tapas, Ultra and Mandara mats. This mat
features a closed cell construction that prevents absorption of
fluids, making it easy to keep clean, also making it a bit more
slippery in those sweaty power and ashtanga yoga classes.
Earth
Element mat by Hugger Mugger is: bioderadable,
recyclable and toxin-free.

We recommend washing your feet with Jo-Sha
Wipes prior to practice. This will greatly reduce how
often you will need to clean your mat.
Avoid excessive sunlight, oils, and high temperatures.
